Redmine

Redmine is a flexible project management web application. Written using the Ruby on Rails framework, it is cross-platform and cross-database.

Installation on Slackware 14

  • cd ~/Downloads/
  • wget http://www.redmine.org/releases/redmine-2.6.1.tar.gz

  • cp redmine-2.6.1.tar.gz /tmp/
  • cd /tmp/
  • tar xvzf redmine-2.6.1.tar.gz
  • cd redmine-2.6.1
  • mysql -p
  • mysql> create database redmine;

  • mysql> create user 'redmine'@'%' identified by '?????????????';

  • mysql> GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON redmine.* TO 'redmine'@'%' WITH GRANT OPTION;

  • mysql> exit;

  • cp config/database.yml.example config/database.yml
  • nano config/database.yml # put the credentials for mysql ....

config/database.yml
# Default setup is given for MySQL with ruby1.9. If you're running Redmine
# with MySQL and ruby1.8, replace the adapter name with `mysql`.
# Examples for PostgreSQL, SQLite3 and SQL Server can be found at the end.
